Public Works supports the rehabilitation of facades in the historic center of Moratalla (16/01/2009)

In 2009, the Department will inject the municipalities of the Region more than five million euros to restore the architectural heritage and create jobs

The general director of Housing and Architecture, Mark Nogueroles, visited today, accompanied by the mayor of Moratalla, Juan Llorente, the historic center of this town where, thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, have been rehabilitated the facades of four buildings and has provided the recovery of two more in 2009.

These are buildings selected for their architectural interest, which has honored its original composition and ornamentation.

"The policy of regional heritage conservation is a key priority for the regional government," said Mark Nogueroles, who also recalled that in Moratalla, and to date, the Directorate General of Housing and Architecture has assisted in the restoration of 55 facades.

Specifically, we have completed the rehabilitation of the exterior of four buildings in the streets Parra, Castelar, parish and Mayor of Moratalla, and this year plans to complete the works of other two, located on Constitution Street, performances that will make a total investment of almost 300,000 euros.

With these six fronts ends the third phase of the Plan of facades in the Historic Center, which develops Moratalla City Council in collaboration with the Directorate General of Housing and Architecture, and through which 25 facades have been restored in the last three years.
