The PP government team concludes Moratalla works Bridge Commander, the PSOE failed to finish (30/03/2015)

The current government of Moratalla Popular Party (PP) has concluded the works of Bridge Commander, which was opened on Monday morning March 30 by the Minister of Development, Public Works and Planning, Francisco Barnabas, the local mayor, Antonio Garcia and the Councillor for Tourism, Juan Soria, who is also currently the PP candidate for the next election of May 24.

"A project for which an agreement between the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport and the City of Moratalla in March 2007, when he ruled the PP in our town was signed," says Soria.

This agreement included the construction of a bridge over the ravine of the Commander on the road between Moratalla and Camping La Puerta, and the replacement of a section of road 480 meters long, being awarded for a total of almost 664,000 euros.

Later, under the PSOE government in the City (2007-2011), as of the December 7, 2010 the contractor requested the termination of the contract and the payment of outstanding certificates, being paralyzed works.

In 2013, and with the government of popular Antonio García, the City of Moratalla received a estimatory dated February 19 with the action brought by the contractor judgment, in which he forced the Consistory to pay 6% of the work pending and running back guarantees.

Once the amounts paid and completed the relation with the previous contractor, popular government resumed work on the bridge we see today finished and it was one of the points collected in its election manifesto.

After a final investment of 167,000 euros, the town looks now completed these works.

"It started months before the change of the legislature 2007-2011 and yet we have had to conclude, with the mismanagement of the Socialists in the City of Moratalla," says the president of the PP in Moratalla, Juan Soria.

"This work enhances both the tourism sector as the industry, as the bridge connects both camping and various local industries," says Soria, which states that "one of the priorities of popular government team was to provide greater security to the environment , since the road had to use was previously too narrow for heavy vehicles that were passing. "
