The Councillor for Tourism Moratalla, Juan Pascual Martinez Soria and President of the Centre for Local Development, Rural and Employment, University of Murcia, Francisco Carreño Sandoval, have offered a press conference on the occasion of the presentation of different projects promoted by the Centre for Local Development, Rural and Employment and the City of Moratalla to be carried out in Moratalla in the context of aid-financed by the European Union through the LEADER program.

New mobile technologies applied to the revitalization of tourism and local commerce.
The City of Moratalla, is the promoter of mobile project "52 Weeks and destination - Moratalla".
New mobile technologies applied to the revitalization of tourism and local commerce, to integrate a mobile app all offers of tourist facilities, shops and cultural and leisure of the municipality agenda.
The project aims to integrate a mobile application in all the tourist, gastronomic, cultural and leisure of the municipality offer, helping to improve the accessibility of citizens to small local businesses and creating a direct (without cost) channel for businesses municipality with which they can send their offers and promotions to consumers.
Project implementation is carried out by the Centre for Local Development, Rural and Employment of the Region of Murcia, and involves the creation of a computer application that can be accessed through a web and APP platform for Android, iOS and Windows Mobile.
This mobile application will result in improved accessibility to market information as an agile and comfortable APP users can access relevant information in various fields: Where to buy ?, Where to Eat?
, Where Sleeping ?, Where ?, What Exit ?, offers and promotions visit, Geo and Local Events.
The application can be used in online and offline mode, among other features, it shows the route to places that we nearest from our current position, leaning to get on Google Maps tool.
The Observatory, in collaboration with the City of Moratalla, has received funding from Integral to perform a series of projects aimed at consolidating the destination by boosting the tourism sector;
Fototurismo specifically, Farmhouse, Creating Business Networks and accessible tourist package.
The main objective of these projects, funded by the LEADER initiative is to contribute to a richer experience for visitors from the collaboration between local entrepreneurs.
Three of these projects are held throughout the area covered by the Comprehensive Local Action Group, which covers the region of Northwest River Mula, districts high Lorca and Espuña;
while the project of creating accessible tourist packages is done exclusively in Moratalla.
The City of Moratalla, through the departments of Agriculture and Environment, Tourism, Training, Employment, Local Development, Youth, Commerce and Handicrafts and New Technologies;
Local Development Agency and the Tourist Office are working in a very intense way, both in promoting activities, and the implementation of some of the strategies and facilitates their facilities.
One project that requires more active participation by residents and visitors is called "Fototurismo".
The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness of some of the places that hides our territory and its traditions, customs and landscapes, plus the unique buildings that dot the Northwest Murciano.
At the end of the photo contest, a traveling exhibition, which will visit all corners of the region, the first stop of this exhibition Moratalla, early next month of May will be held.
