Moratalla Mayor, Antonio Garcia, accompanied by Miguel Angel Mateo Saura, serials serials specialist, inaugurated the exhibition, which takes place in the framework of the second edition of Rock Art Encounters, will be open from Thursday to Sunday until the 15th of December, being located in the room that the City owns the streets García Aguilera, 6, in the neighborhood of "The cynical. room to complement the old tourist circuit, no doubt contributing to energize this area Moratalla, and give the rock to know the local and regional heritage.
The exhibition "Rock Art in the Region of Murcia" takes an exhaustive journey through different styles, techniques, activities, and lifestyles depicted in the paintings of the Region of Murcia, where we have samples of the three artistic horizons of Prehistory ( Paleolithic Levantine and Schematic), inviting the viewer to know some of the deposits, figures and scenes representing the regional rock art.
The exhibition consists of three main sections: a series of panels where you realize the different techniques and styles and are made a tour of the various regional areas (Highlands, Vega Media, Cartagena, Lorca, Northwest, etc..), Two showcases devoted respectively to instruments hunter and painting technique, and another section which displays some of the works from the various editions of the contest "Rupestria" and diverse bibliography.
After the opening, the audience has been directed to the City Hall, where Dr. D.
Saura Mateor Michelangelo gave the conference "The Levantine in Upper Segura", that an area of ​​about 2,000 km2, which stands "as one of the areas with personality in this graphic horizon prehistoric (...) taking Levantine representations of this area deprivation personality, while remaining faithful to the general characteristics of style ".
