II encounters rock art 2013 (07/11/2013)

In this second edition, which expands its range with respect to the previous three lectures will be taught by renowned experts in the field, and will open an exhibition in which he takes an exhaustive journey through different styles, techniques, activities and lifestyles represented in our paintings, this advantage for the room that the City has in Calle Garcia Aguilera, 6 and that from now know as Exhibition Hall "Canico" room that will complement the tourist circuit of our old , undoubtedly contributing to energize this area of ​​our people.

And finally, we have a open day we will discover some of our most iconic paintings from the hand of one of the foremost experts in the field.

These meetings are a local initiative focused on the enhancement and dissemination of one of the heritage and cultural assets of Moratalla major rock art, property on the World Heritage List of UNESCO since 1998, and the municipality owns more than half of the sets of the Region of Murcia, and some of the most striking and representative of the entire Mediterranean area.

During this presentation, the mayor, Antonio Garcia, accompanied by the Councillor for Citizen Participation, Mari Cruz Fernndez, said that these meetings were born last year with a clear desire for continuity, and evidence that are already within the cultural reference of our people as well as a useful initiative for local development and tourism.

Antonio Garcia thanked the cooperation of all participants in this initiative, and stressed the need to position the municipality as a regional reference in the field of rock art.

Finally, he encouraged people to participate in this initiative so that these meetings serve Rock Art to establish a dialogue and reflection on these goods that "we are fortunate to have inherited from our ancestors, and we have the obligation to keep between all ".
