The Ministry of the Presidency, through the Directorate General for Environment, has restored the habitat degraded environment of the Sierra de Revolcadores in the town of Moratalla, in order to improve the conservation of important natural heritage and biodiversity the area.
The restoration and improvement project, which involved an investment of 356,000 euros financed by the Autonomous Community and the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs, has been aimed at promoting the recovery of forest areas, reduction of soil loss in areas with erosion, improving the road network for transit insurance and the provision of facilities and systems for monitoring forest fires.
The work consisted in improving the way Inazares the prayers for the traffic, the opening of the ditch beside the road, cleaning and restoration of existing water passes and the creation of new steps and outputs water.
Also a speed bump has been repaired to facilitate the crossing of the watercourse and Rogation defense walls have been built on the slopes of landslides which have clearing and rockfill embankment reinforcement.
It has also enabled an auxiliary belt fire in the way of the Rogation Inazares, with a width of 20 meters on each side, with the aim of establishing a line of defense against fire.

As for silvicultural treatments, there have been pruning, thinning, and enhancements resolveos on over 28 acres of land, where the feet are removed surplus, weak, dominated or defective to optimize the development of mass and improve size of the others.

Finally, new species has been restocked with some areas of the valley, more soil moisture, and other areas of higher altitude for a clear pine Corsican pine.
The species chosen for afforestation were cotoneaster, oak, ash, maple, juniper, honeysuckle, whitebeam leaf trimmed whitebeam, cherry Santa Lucia, gray poplar, willow, ash, willow and elderberry.
The roof of the Region
With a total area of ​​3490 hectares, is a solid Revolcadores mountainous terrain, characterized by peaks and landscapes of dolomitic substrates.

Among vertebrates, amphibians are well represented, with species as rare in the region as the salamander or the Betic midwife toad.
