Maternity is a project consisting of a series of snapshots taken throughout the world in which appears a mother and son.
Through these images and texts that accompany them, both the photographer and journalist Bru Rovira (Ortega y Gasset Prize 2004), we travel through different countries and cultures.
Although situations can be very adverse, war, disease, hunger, poverty, etc .- maternity photographs capture a unique relationship where it emphasizes the beauty and love.
In the words of Bru Rovira "The relationship between a mother and her child belongs to this world heritage, private and intimate able to survive any situation that things go wrong."
The exhibition, organized by the International Cooperation Program Obra Social "la Caixa", allows different perceptions and may be cause for reflection for all ages.
It also includes a proposal aimed at teaching all ages, in which the smallest observed on all the emotions and the figure of the mother, the students ask questions about the lives of these mothers and children, the diversity of the world where we live and our own feelings, and finally, young and old may be interested in topics such as fair trade, the North-South relations, the forgotten wars, the situation of refugees and universal access to health.
The Equality Authority, given the pedagogical value of this exhibition, has invited local schools to participate by completing the educational proposals of the Obra Social "la Caixa" associated with this exposure.
