The Otter Project is an initiative of Ecologists in Action Murcia Region has among its objectives the conservation of endangered species in the region, such as the otter (Lutra lutra), the recovery of endangered coastal forests of the basin Segura, the preservation of traditional orchards of Murcia and the promotion of ecotourism in the long term benefits to coastal populations.
To achieve its objectives Otter Project conducts various activities throughout the year in which it is to achieve maximum dissemination of the many important values of the Rio Segura river ecosystem.
At the same time, social participation is sought through volunteering, especially residents of coastal towns, as are the ones who interact with the Segura river ecosystem.
Throughout all this fall will be several activities, starting with the next Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September with reforestation in the capture of the Risca.
The main objective is reforestation forest conversion of abandoned agricultural areas, and conservation and improvement of the river ecosystem.
These activities are open to participation by anyone wanting to spend a day or all weekend planting and knowing the high values of the watershed safe and participate in conserving our environment.
