Another year, in order to create awareness about this disease - the most widespread among dementias and for which there is currently no cure -, different social and educational actions have been programmed and are being widely accepted by the public.
On September 21 the campaign began with the following actions:
- Signpost of posters, located in different points of the locality, that invite to remember questions of Moratalla, such as names of bars and shops, names of their owners, what was sold in them, etc.
This action is continued through social networks.
- Distribution of magnets with posit format that simulated "things to remember", such as "unplug the iron", "close the door", "my children's name" ...
- Street action to make people feel in their own skin what a person with Alzheimer feels when they can not remember.
The reactions to this simulation were of bewilderment, concern, shame ... with comments such as: I think you are confused !, what do you say we know ?, I do not remember, I'm sorry !, are you sure we know ? ...
- Dissemination of awareness videos through social networks.
For next November 15, and as a campaign closing, will be held in Moratalla a day of training and information on Alzheimer's disease.
This training is subsidized by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality and is managed by the Spanish Confederation of Alzheimer's.
