On the occasion of the "8th of March, International Women's Day" Moratalla City Council from the Department of Women launches the campaign "Feminism does not bite."
A campaign committed to the struggle for equality that seeks to demythologize that feminism is the opposite of machismo and that is also a question that only concerns women.
To do this, through different actions will show the citizens the true meaning of feminism and how through their different manifestations has achieved social change worldwide such as women's access to education, the exercise of the right to vote , The protection of their sexual and reproductive rights, the right to conciliation, etc.
We will know, then, that "feminism does not bite" nor is it something we have to fear;
Is a struggle of men and women for justice and that ultimately benefits society as a whole.
As a campaign closing, on March 12 a Food-Debate will be held to share feminist views and after that, in the Theater Trieta will be held a commemorative and protesting act on the need for citizens to be united and feminist to achieve Justice and real equality.
For this event we will have the participation of two chirigotas, the "Chirigota de Beniaján" and the chirigota "Las Chochonis", winners of the XV Regional Competition of Chirigotas City of Cartagena 2017. Entry to the event is free;
