The Mayor of Moratalla shows his discomfort with the institutional disloyalty of the Minister of Agriculture (21/07/2020)

| By failing to inform or summon him to the public visit that he has made today in Moratalla | Jesús Amo considers that, especially in these moments of health and economic crisis, the institutions must walk together and without political distinctions. The Local Government considers it unacceptable rudeness that they learn of the presence of the Councilor in the municipality through the CARM website and not through logical coordination between institutions. The mayor of Moratalla, Jesús Amo, has expressed his disagreement and his discomfort at the institutional disloyalty towards the Moratalla City Council that has been carried out by the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing and the Environment, Antonio Luengo, who has come to the municipality to make an institutional visit to lavender plantations and a fruit company without having contacted or called with the Moratallero town hall. The first mayor, who considers "very important for the rural territory and with depopulation, as is the case of the municipality of Moratalla, the presence on the ground of any government member from the administration that is and is governed by the political party that is" , affirms that "institutional loyalty is something that must always be given, but now even more so because in times of difficulties such as those we are currently experiencing, citizens want politicians to be united and all working towards one beyond our political tendencies." Amo considers it a democratic misconduct that an institutional visit is made as it appears on the public agenda of the Autonomous Community website and is neither informed nor called to the municipal institution.

"It is sad to verify in a public web portal that the counselor comes to Campo de Béjar and Moratalla to visit an aromatic plant distiller, to visit lavender plantations and a company specialized in the production of fruits for industrial use, and to do so without counting with the City Council, from where we have transferred our proposals and concerns about this sector on numerous occasions, which must be a very important pillar both for the economy and for the fight against rural depopulation ". The Moratalla City Council shows "this discomfort with the Regional Government and they are committed to always promoting an adequate institutional relationship and according to what the citizens deserve, even more so in a territory as broad as the municipality of Moratalla, where the Lack of resources and economic limitations must be addressed jointly by the different administrations to provide the services and supports they deserve.
