The director general of Natural Environment, Fulgencio Perona, recently supervised the actions that are being developed on forest roads located in public forests in the municipalities of Moratalla, Calasparra and Cieza, which were affected by the heavy rains of the dana last September .
The works have had a budget of 499,000 euros.
"It must be remembered that the intense rains affected infrastructures of protected natural areas, areas of the Natura 2000 Network and public forests and caused the limitation of accesses to carry out works of prevention, surveillance, extinction of forest fires, prevention and action on affected masses due to forest pests, as well as the loss of functionality of existing hydrological correction infrastructures, among other aspects, for which it was necessary and urgent to act in these spaces, â€Perona said.
The actions have been carried out on 55.9 kilometers of forest roads located in the aforementioned municipalities and include the refining of slopes, the cleaning of ditches, the compaction of the pavement and the contribution of gravel, as well as the adaptation of water passages and speed bumps, among others.
