The Teatro Trieta opens its doors for this VIII Star Gil by the amateur theater group "Behind the Curtain" staging "The Pelópidas" a satire on Greek tragedies of the Alicante poet Jorge Llopis.
The text, in rhymed verse, is a challenge for the components of this theatrical formation that will stage this great comedy with 16 characters,
"After the Curtain" began his career in 2004 at the Popular University of Yecla.
Subsequently, this group has had a long history with works represented for charitable purposes.
In 2018 they were constituted as a cultural association, starting a new stage with the staging of "Sublime decision", before facing its second project with "Los Pelópidas".
The second contest brings us the originality of a classic like Jardiel Poncela, which arrives at this eighth edition of "Estrella Gil" by the hand of Teatro Expresando, a creative school in Madrid that since its creation in 2013 has encouraged and empowered the individual skills and qualities of many people, without neglecting group work so as not to lose the perspective of "company", and which in Moratalla will represent "Angelina or the honor of a brigadier".
We will see extravagant, absurd and incredible situations, which through irony, lively dialogues, misunderstandings, surprises and contrasts of styles and records of all his characters that often mix the sublime and the crazy, will make us have a fun time with the representation of the work "Angelina or the honor of a brigadier".
Finally, on Friday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m. we will see the theater performance "Colón" by UGTeatro.
This company was born in 2007 from the initiative of a group of workers and friends of UGT in the Region of Murcia, encouraged by the illusion of sharing experiences, living other lives.
The work involves "a demystification" of the discovery of America, using the numerous anachronisms as intentional winks to the public, and the message that is intended to convey is the pure irony.
Through a staging based on two elevated mobile platforms, steps and adaptable elements, the assembly recreates different environments, such as the Court of Castile, a sailor's tavern or the deck of a ship, in which we will see an idealist and at the same time Naive Christopher Columbus, who dreams of entering history as an illustrious navigator.
A comedy with dyes of tragedy that reflects the perversity of the human being for his ego and the collusion of the power established to destroy those who shade him.
