The arrested are accused of alleged responsibility for at least five crimes of theft with force of tools, agricultural machinery and oil jugs
They used the knowledge of the environment to attack orchard houses
Several of the stolen oil bottles were sold at a low price in Calasparra
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed an investigation, framed in the 'Plan against theft in homes', to clarify a series of robberies committed in orchard houses in the municipal area of Moratalla, which has resulted in the arrest of two people, neighbors of the municipality, as presumed authors of, at least, five crimes of robbery with force.
The investigation began last May, when the Civil Guard became aware of the robberies committed in several isolated houses in the municipality of Moratalla, facts that had generated some social alarm.
The exhaustive technical-ocular inspections carried out allowed to detect that certain similarities existed both in the modus operandi used to access the buildings, as well as in the geographical proximity of the dwellings, the schedules in which the thefts were committed, as well as in the type of stolen objects: tools and agricultural machinery.
Agents of Prevention of Public Safety established a line of investigation, finding out that in the neighboring municipality of Calasparra a series of oil bottles had been sold, at a low price, whose brand coincided with those stolen in one of the buildings.
Citizen collaboration
Thanks to the collaboration of the citizens, the investigators identified a person who had been seen in a suspicious attitude, wandering around the Santa Quiteria and El Jardin urbanizations, once on board a vehicle and another on foot, at night, equipped with a flashlight.
On both occasions, when detecting the presence of possible witnesses, he rushed out of the area.
The researches carried out and the evidence obtained during the investigation have allowed to identify him, as well as a second person, both supposedly related to the thefts.
The investigation has culminated with the arrest of two male, Spanish, 36 and 44 and Moratalla residents as alleged perpetrators of at least 5 crimes of burglary in housing.
The arrested and the proceedings have been delivered in the Court of Instruction of Caravaca de la Cruz.
The investigation continues open before the possibility of clarifying other crimes of the same nature.
