The Department of Public Safety congratulates the agents of the Local Police for their professionalism after three months of stealthy work
Since the end of last week and after the relevant specialized efforts in recent days, the Moratalla Local Police through the specialized agents in the field of Judicial Police, have dealt a heavy blow to drug trafficking in our municipality.
Under the framework of the 'Operation Benamor', and after three months of a good and stealthy work, they have found a large outdoor plantation of marijuana.
It is about more than 25 seized plants with heights higher than 2'5 meters, whose value in the underground market would have exceeded, approximately, € 50,000.
Due to this seizure, a neighbor of Moratalla has been investigated as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of drug trafficking typified in article 368 of the current penal code, this action is punishable by prison terms of 3 to 6 years and a fine of three times the value of the drug subject of the crime.
From the Headquarters of the Local Police of Moratalla do not close the aforementioned operation, not ruling out new arrests and informing, in turn, that all the police proceedings carried out have been brought to the attention of the Court n ° 1 of First Instance and Instruction of Caravaca from the cross.
For its part, from the Department of Public Safety of the City of Moratalla, which is owned by the mayor, Jesus Amo, wants to "congratulate the professionalism and effort shown by our agents and transmit them again, as has already been done, our maximum commitment to their training, as well as the provision of material and human resources that are necessary for the exercise of their important functions, keeping the citizen's safety in order ".
